How long does it take to fit a dental crown?
Fitting a crown requires at least two visits to our office. Initially, we will remove decay, shape the tooth, and fit it with a temporary crown of either plastic or metal.
On the subsequent visit, we will remove the temporary crown and then fit and adjust the final crown. Finally, we will cement the crown into place and you have a new beautiful looking tooth.

What are the capabilities of crowns?
Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused through accidents, diseases or wear and tear. Major problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. Material used in these repairs is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. A higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials is recommended to treat the most serious of dental problems. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.
Many people have unexplained pain from filled back teeth, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. In teeth with root canal fillings, crowns can prevent breakage.

I broke a tooth and texted Monarch dentistry that same night, they responded within minutes and saw me the following morning for a consult (even though their practice was closed that day they made a plan to see me). Dr Mercado made sure I was able to be without pain and slotted me in the following day for the temp. Crown after the initial consult. The procedure was painless and as usual the service and care was nothing short of exceptional. We all know that there are many of us that fear the dentist but Dr Mercado and her staff made me feel very comfortable. Monarch Dentistry is by far the best dentistry I have ever been to. My first visit with Dr. Mercado was a very thorough examination of my teeth, gums and previous history of any tooth procedures. Also, Dr. Mercado went over any issues or concerns regarding my teeth and gums and plan of treatment or procedures needed to keep me in the most healthiest direction. Dr. Mercado and the whole staff were very friendly and accommodating. The equipment used at the office very new and high tech. Office is so beautiful and clean. Definitely recommend Dr. Mercado. Visited for temp crown removal and permanent crown installation. Extremely smooth procedure today with a perfect fit, What I like is I have the same dental assistants Sara, Nataly and of course the same dentist Dr Mercardo. They explain what they are doing and you become involved in your dental care. I have learned so much about care for my teeth, something other dentists didn't do. With the use of photos and x-rays they show you what has been going on with your teeth and conditions you aren't aware of. Now that really has gotten my attention with proper home dental care. As always, their work is kind, and gentle care and really just exceptional work.

GREAT GREAT is all I can say about the team at Monarch Dentistry. I was greeted by Susan and Eric, so putting the patient at ease began as soon as I walked in the door, Thank you both. Now the work the really professional and very amazing team of Dr. Mercado, Nataly and Sara were absolutely the best , their personalities is such a wonderful asset too the office. I am always asking questions, how do you do this, how does that happen etc and the doctor explains with use of the information she has put together on the condition of your teeth. With this latest crown issue , after my call to her office she returned my call and had already looked at the history and explained the fix. I got an appointment right away and the fact that she explained the process I felt more at ease. That in it's self is a great accomplishment. The doctor and her team worked the problem and I have to say, what a really amazing job they did. I just cant say enough for the way this dental office functions , keep up the good work.

After a few minutes of the doctor explaining what was to be done, I felt comfortable, she answered all my questions. Her manner was gentle and always had my fears and concerns up front and worked at easing my anxiety, that was important to me. Dr. Mercado and her staff are exceptional on every level. They are friendly and professional. Dr. Mercado is a perfectionist so I know I can trust her to do what is best for my dental needs. She has done several crowns for me. For one crown, it did not fit down into the gum and she had a new one made and it looks like it's a tooth, not a crown. When I first went to her she found a cavity under a crown that no dentist had ever found and she was able to save the tooth and give me a new crown.
